The E-Z ACCESS® Safety Deck System was developed to reduce personnel injuries that occur when working around manways and on top of truck tanks. The E-Z ACCESS® Safety Deck System provides operators and other personnel with safe, OSHA-compliant access to tank openings. The system is extensively used in bulk liquid receiving and shipping rooms and other areas where work is performed at differing elevations. The most unique feature of this system is the adjustability of the drop decks that move vertically and horizontally, accommodating a variety of tanker designs and hatch locations.

Safety Improvements
- Added third hoop to cage
- Eliminated almost all pinch point of drop by offset linkage arms and new designs
- Added grab bar to drop uprights to serve as clear grab point and help to eliminate people grabbing linkage arms or lower onto uprights and potentially smashing hand between deck handrails and drop uprights as they move the drop
- Additional swing gate at stair entrance
- Changed drop design to move valve and lines to route and protect them which greatly reduces the change of trucks snagging them as they pull in and out of the bays
- Added dual-action check valve onto pneumatic system to prevent drop platforms from lowering if the plant would have a loss of compressed air
Tolerance Control Improvement
- Throughout the design, tightly controlled waterjet and machined parts took the place of basic parts that were welded leading to a higher level of control and thus better reliability.
Additional key improvements
- New Trolley and drop are designed to fit the existing C-Channel so they can be retro-fit into any existing E-Z ACCESS® Safety Deck
- 12’ deck footprint and still covers an extra .5’ of trolley travel over previous design
- Provides 8' 6" of traveling drop travel
